52-year-old Alberta Renee Sullivan of Salisbury was arrested Monday (May 5) for misdemeanor possession of marijuana greater than half an ounce but less than an ounce and a half and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was arrested after the vehicle she was driving, a 1998 Pontiac, was stopped on the Salisbury Highway because it didn’t have a license plate. Sullivan said she had a temporary permit issued by the D.M.V.; however, she was unable to produce it.
A routine records check showed that Sullivan had been charged with felony possession of marijuana possession in March of this year. When the Officer asked if there was illegal contraband in the vehicle, Sullivan began to behave nervously and admitted to having an ounce of marijuana in the center console.
The marijuana was seized and Sullivan was taken into custody under a $10,000 secured bond. She has since been released. Sullivan will appear in District Court on the latest charges on June 9 and then again on June 25 on the charges from March.
