“Eat Drink and Be Local” will take place in Catawba County during the week of May 18 through May 24. The event is intended to raise awareness regarding the importance of supporting the local food system and to celebrate the farm-to-table movement in the county.
Events planned during the week include a farm tour, gardening & cooking classes, a local beer & wine tasting and a local foods feast.
Partnering restaurants that feature local food products on their menus include Youssef 242, Highland Avenue, Bistro 127 and the Olde Hickory Station.
2014 marks the 100th anniversary of the Cooperative Extension. Local Food is the Cooperative’s flagship program. For more details, contact Kellyn Montgomery at 828-465-8240 or email@example.com. Additional information is available on Facebook at www.facebook.com/eatdrinkandbelocal.
