26-year-old Eric Shawn Davis of Fhilmore Teague Road in Taylorsville was arrested by Hickory Police just before 5 p.m. yesterday (April 30) on one felony count of breaking & entering a motor vehicle and one misdemeanor count of larceny.
His arrest stems from an incident on April 27 when a 46-year-old female victim attended a birthday party at Glenn Hilton Park in Hickory. Eric Davis was also at the party. The victim told Police she noticed Davis walking back and forth to the parking area, but she didn’t know her vehicle had been broken into.
Some time later, she received a call from another man who told her that Davis had broken into her vehicle. The man said Davis called him during the break-in, describing the items he was taking.
Davis and the other man later got into an argument over the incident. The man then called the victim and also called Granite Falls Police.
In all, $977 in jewelry was stolen from the victim’s vehicle.
Davis was arrested without incident and placed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility under a $6,000 secured bond. He was scheduled to make a first appearance in District Court tomorrow in Newton.
