27-year-old Larry Joe Dycus of Country Land Lane in Vale has been arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff’s Lt. Tim Johnson on one felony count of trafficking in opium.
Lt. Johnson was traveling Highway 27 West in an unmarked vehicle last Friday (April 25) when he was passed by a white truck traveling at a high rate of speed. The Lieutenant pursued the vehicle and stopped it on Highway 27 near the intersection of Beam Lumber Road.
The driver, Larry Dycus, gave consent to search the vehicle. A bottle containing 100 hydrocodone pills was found. The pills were not prescribed to Dycus. The pills were valued at $800.
Dycus was released pending further investigation. He turned himself in to Lt. Johnson yesterday (April 30).
Dycus was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center under a $5,000 secured bond. A first appearance in District Court was set for today.
