United Church Homes & Services (UCHS) Board Chairman Ray Deal recognized UCHS President & CEO Lee Syria for 20 years of service to the organization at the Spring Board Retreat.
Syria began her career with Abernethy Laurels, a UCHS senior living community, in 1997 as Personnel Manager. In 2000, she became Vice President of Human Resources for UCHS and in 2008 she was selected Senior Vice President of Operations. Syria was named the organization’s first female President & CEO in 2012.
Syria holds degrees from Gardner-Webb University and Appalachian State University. Syria is a licensed nursing home administrator in North Carolina and Virginia. She serves on a number of Boards of Directors, including the board for the Catawba County Chamber of Commerce.
UCHS serves over 2300 senior adults annually and employs approximately 850 team members at 11 locations across North Carolina and Virginia.
