Traffic Stop in Hickory Leads to Felony Meth Arrest

24-year-old Adam Kyle Ramsey of 37th Street S.W. in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police at 11:40 last night (May 18) on one felony count of possession of a schedule II controlled substance and one misdemeanor count of driving while license revoked.

He was arrested after Hickory Police conducted a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 127 and 1st Avenue S.E.  The 1999 Chevy Monte Carlo was driven by Adam Ramsey.  Officers reportedly found two grams of methamphetamine on Ramsey’s person.

Ramsey was taken into custody without incident and placed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility under a $5,500 secured bond.  He was scheduled to make a first appearance in District Court today in Newton.
