34-year-old Jeremy Wayne Miller was arrested by Iredell County Sheriff's Officers. He's charged with five counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a child.
On February 15, 2017, a report was filed with the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office in reference to child pornography. The report was assigned to Detective Patrick Dixson of the Special Victim’s Unit. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children sent a cyber-tip which stated that Jeremy Wayne Miller, had several files of what was believed to be child pornography saved in an account.
Detectives reviewed the files and verified that they did, in fact, contain child pornography. A search warrant was obtained for Miller’s Dropbox account. The search resulted in the discovery of hundreds of files of child pornography. Iredell Sheriff Detectives, the NC SBI Computer Crimes Unit, and Homeland Security then searched the residence of Miller and gathered further evidence.
Miller's bond was set at $100,000 secured. A District Court appearance is scheduled for June 9.
