Newton Woman Charged With Stealing, Using Debit Card

34-year-old Donna Dixon Wood of Springdale Drive in Newton was arrested last Saturday (April 15) by Lincolnton Police Officers. She's charged with felony identity theft and misdemeanor financial card fraud.

According to a news release issued on Thursday (April 20) The warrant was the result of an investigation conducted by Lincolnton Police Department Detective Tony Potts. Upon investigating the case, Detective Potts determined that Wood stole a debit or bank card from a known victim. Wood allegedly used the card to obtain money.

Detective Richard Calhoun of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation. Following the arrest,   
Wood was placed in the Lincoln County Jail under $6,000 secured bond. Her next District Court date is May 2.  

Wood has prior convictions for common law forgery, common law uttering, possession of drug paraphernalia, DWI, simple worthless check, misdemeanor child abuse, and intoxicated and disruptive behavior.
