Charlotte Man Arrested in Hickory on Fugitive Warrant from Georgia

48-year-old Jason Brett Stone of Longstone Drive in Charlotte was arrested by Hickory Police early this morning (February 16) on four counts of shoplifting, one felony and three misdemeanor counts. He was arrested on a felony warrant as a fugitive awaiting extradition to another state.

He was wanted on warrants issued by the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office in Clayton, Georgia. The offenses took place from August and October of last year.

He was taken into custody without incident at about 5:20 a.m. today at the Walmart store on Highway 70 S.E. in Hickory. Stone was jailed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility under a $50,000 secured bond. A first appearance in District Court was scheduled yesterday in Newton.
