Hickory Police are investigating two robberies at two different Boost Mobile stores in Hickory yesterday (February 15).
The first occurred at about 10:30 a.m. at the Boost Mobile store at 2501 Springs Road N.E., Hickory. During the incident, a male suspect entered the store, threatened the clerk and demanded money. The man implied that he was armed, but no weapon was displayed. The suspect exited the business with an undisclosed sum of cash and one cell phone. He left the scene in a vehicle.
The suspect is described as 18-to-20 years old. He is a light-skinned, black male. He’s about 6 feet tall with a thin build. The suspect was wearing a black Nike baseball cap, a black sweater and baggy sweat pants.
The second robbery happened at about 7:30 p.m. at the Boost Mobile store on Highway 70 S.E., near C.V.C.C. Two men entered the store and threatened and threatened the clerk, demanding money and phones. Both men were armed with handguns. They left the store with an undisclosed sum of cash, one cell phone and a wallet. It’s not clear if the suspects left on foot or in a vehicle.
One suspect was described as a black male. He is between 5’7” and six feet tall. He weighs between 180 and 200 pounds. He was wearing a black ski mask and black sneakers. The other suspect is a black male. He is between 6’2” and 6’7” tall, weighing 250 to 300 pounds. He was wearing loose gray sweatpants, black sneakers, a black sweatshirt and a black ski mask.
Police do not know if the two incidents are connected in any way. The investigation is ongoing.
