27-year-old Marilyn Clark Seawell of Section House Road in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police just before 2:30 p.m. yesterday (April 15) on one felony count of habitual shoplifting.
She is accused of shoplifting a TIVO, two blu-ray players, a home theater system, a wireless speaker, video game accessories and five children’s clothing items from the Wal-Mart store on Highway 70 S.E. in Hickory. The incident occurred on March 31.
After consulting with the District Attorney’s office, the felony habitual larceny charge was filed based on six previous convictions from 2002 to 2012.
Seawell was taken to the Catawba Co. Detention Facility with bond set at $9,000, secured. She was scheduled to make a first appearance in Newton today.
