50-year-old Michael Domenick Decenzo of 10th Avenue Drive N.E. in Hickory was arrested by Hickory Police at about 8:30 last night (April 15) on two felony counts of obtaining property by false pretense.
He was arrested after Officers spoke to the owner of Bowman Roofing & Sheet Metal in Hickory, who was visiting area pawnshops in search of items that were stolen from the business. The victim found one of the business’ screw guns at Insta-Cash Pawn & Jewelry on Highland Avenue.
Officers were able to identify Decenzo, a former Bowman Roofing part-time employee, as the man who pawned the screw gun. It’s not clear if other items were stolen from the roofing company.
Decenzo was placed in the Catawba Co. Detention Facility under a $14,000 secured bond. He was scheduled to make a first appearance in District Court today in Newton.
