20-year-old Charles R. Hernandez-Sandoval of Dogwood Estates Drive in Statesville was arrested by Iredell County Sheriff’s Officers on April 14 on two counts each of breaking & entering, larceny after breaking & entering and conspiracy. There are also outstanding warrants on two other suspects, Bryan Edwards Navarro and Stephon Jamal McClain.
The investigation began on February 28 when Beaver’s Country Store on the Mocksville Highway reported a break-in. Detectives obtained video, but no other leads developed until the store was broken into again on March 21. The videos showed similarities in the suspect’s mannerisms, clothing, shoes and backpack.
Detectives worked closely with the community and with Officers regularly assigned to the area. A Deputy gave Detectives the names of several potential suspects he had dealt with in the past. Interviews were conducted, leading to the arrest of Hernandez-Sandoval. Some of the stolen property was recovered at the suspect’s residence.
Hernandez-Sandoval has been confined in the Iredell County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond. No court date is currently listed.
