Lincolnton Bank Robbery Suspect ID'd; Still at Large

49-year-old Jean Pierre Gendron has been identified as the man who robbed the Peoples Bank on Highway 27 West in Lincolnton yesterday morning (April 2).

Gendron is 5’7” tall and weighs 147 pounds. He has blue eyes, and is bald with some blonde hair. He has multiple tattoos including a cross on his left arm, a skull with tribal bars and barbed wire on his right arm and the word “JADE” on his back. Gendron is originally from Boston, Massachusetts and has a Boston accent. He has ties to Lincoln and Gaston counties.

Gendron has an extensive criminal history and should be considered dangerous. Warrants for his arrest have been issued on a charge of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

He was last seen leaving People’s Bank driving a stolen burgundy 2004 Nissan Altima with North Carolina license tag ZWK-5567. The vehicle was stolen from Tommy’s Drive-In in Gaston County.

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Jean Pierre Gendron is asked to call 9-1-1 or call Crime Stoppers of Lincolnton-Lincoln County at 704-736-8909. Information leading to the suspect’s arrest could result in a cash reward up to $1,000.
