Lincolnton Police are investigating a bank robbery at the Peoples Bank on Highway 27 West this morning (April 2).

At about 9:15 a.m., a white male wearing a white t-shirt with a brown zip-up hooded jacket, red shorts and white high top tennis shoes entered the bank. The man presented the teller with a note that demanded money. The man also told the teller, “give me all of the money and no dye packs or I will shoot you.” He did not display a weapon. The suspect left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The suspect spoke with what may have been a northern accent. He may have a small tattoo on his neck or face. He is in his mid-30s to early-40s and is bald or has very short light-colored hair. The suspect has a thin build and is between 5’4” and 5’8” tall.

The subject was driving a burgundy 2004 Nissan Altima with N.C. license tag number ZWK5567. The vehicle was reported stolen out of Gaston County earlier this morning.

Anyone with information should call Lieutenant Brian R. Greene at 704-736-8900.
