The South Atlantic Conference announced its AstroTurf Women's Soccer Players of the Week for matches played during Sept. 5 to Sept 10. Lenoir-Rhyne's Hannah Van Eerden garnered the Offensive Player of the Week award, her first such honor of the season.
A senior forward, Van Eerden led the Bears to a pair of victories, including a 4-1 win over Lees-McRae. The Stokesdale, N.C. native netted a goal and an assist against the Lees-McRae Bobcats. In the 8-0 win over USC-Aiken, Van Eerden a delivered hat trick performance. Van Eerden led an offense which scored 14 goals in their last two games, which is the most scored in back-to-back games since 2008 against Columbia (SC.) and Limestone. Her four goals on the week came on just five shots on goal.
Van Eerden is tied for the lead league in goals (4) and points (9) in the SAC.
