Lenoir-Rhyne sophomore shortstop Talon LaClair has been named CoSIDA Google Cloud Academic All-American Third Team as announced by the organization. LaClair earned a 4.0 GPA and was also named NFCA Second Team All-Region.
On top of leading the Bears in numerous offensive categories, LaClair is also a star in the classroom. The math major has been named to the South Atlantic Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, earned a spot on the President's List, became a member of the Chi Alpha Sigma Honor Society and spends a lot of her time volunteering with various organizations.
On the field, LaClair was named to the Second Team All-Conference as well as Second Team All-Southeast Region. She finished her sophomore campaign with a team-high .414 batting average, including a conference-best .507 batting average in league play. The Statesville native recorded a hit in nine straight at bats and she finished in the top ten in five offensive categories. LaClair led the team with 44 RBIs and had 15 multi-hit games.
