The Catawba Valley Community College softball program announces the signing of West Lincoln standout Kinsley Gilmore on Tuesday.
“We are thrilled to be signing a player like Kinsley,” said CVCC head softball coach Josh Bumgarner. “The mixture of speed and power she brings to the table will really be beneficial for our program.”
The senior outfielder for the Rebels just completed her senior season where she tallied a .328 batting average, 13 runs scored and a team-high 18 RBI.
She finished her four-year West Lincoln softball career with 94 games played, 82 hits (21 doubles, six triples, five home runs), 75 runs scored, 14 stolen bases and 68 RBI.
A two-sport athlete who also played basketball at WLHS, Gilmore helped lead the Rebels to 65 wins on the softball diamond, including 38 in conference play, and a 2A state runner up finish during her freshman season in 2016.
Defensively, Gilmore recorded a .982 fielding percentage with just two errors in 112 total chances.
Gilmore joins a CVCC softball program that officially starts this fall and will be immediately eligible for championship contention in the spring of 2020.
