The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's and Women's Track and Field Athletes competed for the final time prior to the NCAA postseason in the Mount Olive Last Chance Meet. The top individual performance came from P.J. Lotharp, who improved on his previous 200-meter school record with a 20.89, which is good enough for 13th in Division II.
The women's 4x400 meter relay team of Paiton Fair, Tyra Poole, Taylor Meadows, and Saidah Hardwick scorched the previous school record and ended up with an NCAA provisional time of 3:47.24! The women also shined in the hurdles, with a fifth and sixth place finish in the 100-meter hurdles by Savannah Watkins and Essence Newkirk and a fourth place finish in the 400-meters by Jada Harrison.
The Bears that qualify will prepare for NCAA Outdoor Championships in Kingsville, Texas May 23 through May 25.
