Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf Finishes Seventh at SAC Championship

The Lenoir-Rhyne Men's Golf Team wrapped up their performance in the South Atlantic Conference Championship with a 304 in the final 18, totaling an 897 through the entirety of the tournament at the Camden Country Club.

Dawson Walker stayed on top for the Bears throughout the 54 holes, and finished tied for fourth in the field with a score of 214. He played one-under golf, was plus-one in day two and was plus-four on the final day. Walker tallied four bogies with the rest being pars on Tuesday. He was tabbed to the All-Tournament First Team for his performance over the past three days. Senior Brad Robinson finished the tournament in the top-10, earning himself a spot on the All-Tournament Team as well, as announced upon the tournament's conclusion. He recorded a three-day score of 75-72-72-219 and finished the final round with a pair of birdies and four bogies.

After Tyler Hashmi finished the first day in the top-10, he dropped down the leaderboard and finished the tournament with a three-day score of 74-76-83-233, which was good enough to put him tied for 36th. Hashmi tallied a bogie or higher on 11 of his 18 holes and birdied only once in the final 18 holes. SAC Freshman of the Year, Matthew Raybould, had a first round of 81 on day one but responded with 76 and a day three mark of 77 to finish with a 234 and tie for 38th in the field. Rounding out the Bears lineup was Carlos Lasso de la Vega Jessen put in three birdies, but struggled the rest of the final day as he finished the tournament with a line of 80-76-81-237 for the event. He closed out his performance with a bogey, double-bogey and triple bogey in the final three holes.

Queens University were named the tournament champions with an 864 through the three-day event. Harry Bolton from Newberry was the medalist, who tallying a score of 210.
