Appalachian State University football’s Sept. 20 contest at Southern Miss will kick off at 7 p.m. ET and be televised live on the newly formed American Sports Network, Conference USA announced on Thursday.
The American Sports Network will air on a number of Sinclair Broadcasting-owned television stations across the country. Sinclair owns and operates 162 television stations in 78 U.S. markets. Specific stations that will carry the Appalachian State-Southern Miss game have yet to be determined.
The Sept. 20 matchup between Appalachian State and Southern Miss is the first game of a home-and-home series between the two schools. Southern Miss makes the return trip to App State’s Kidd Brewer Stadium on Sept. 19, 2015.
The Mountaineers and Golden Eagles are meeting on the gridiron for the first time in 77 years. In the lone previous matchup between the two schools, Southern Miss beat Appalachian, 7-0, in an unnamed bowl game in Biloxi, Miss. on Dec. 3, 1937.
