Lenoir-Rhyne's Queen Named Bluegrass Conference Swimmer of the Week

Lenoir-Rhyne University's Jacob Queen has been selected as the Bluegrass Mountain Conference Men's Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season, as announced by league officials earlier today.

Queen, a junior and St. Stephens grad, won two events and helped lead the Bears to a 153–108 win over Barton College this past Saturday. Queen took first in both the 100-yard backstroke (52.44) and 200-yard backstroke (1:55.75). Queen was also a member of each of the winning relays for the Bears – 400-yard freestyle relay (3:14.49) and 400-yard medley relay (3:33.92).

Queen currently holds six individual school records: 100-yard and 200-yard freestyles, 200-yard backstroke, 100-yard and 200-yard breaststrokes, and the 200-yard individual medley. He was also a member of the record breaking 200-yard, 400-yard, and 800-yard freestyle relays and the 200-yard and 400-yard medley relays.

The Lenoir-Rhyne University Men's Swimming Team is back in action for a double-dual meet against Catawba and Wingate on Saturday, January 18, in Wingate, N.C.
