The Lenoir-Rhyne Baseball Team has signed 18 players to dawn the Cardinal and Black starting in the 2020 season. This group of signees has given the Bears a nationally-ranked signing class, good for fourth in the entirety of Division II, according to Perfect Game.
The nationally-heralded class of 18 contains 12 nationally-rated prospects, according to the service. 10 of those 12 hail from inside the state of North Carolina. This group includes two right-handed pitchers, two catchers, four outfielders and four infielders (2B/SS/3B).
"We are incredibly excited to welcome this group of Bears to campus for the 2019-20 academic year," Head Coach Tom Fleenor said. "Assistant coaches Chaz Frank and Nick Flachofsky went above and beyond to secure this unbelievable collection of amazing young men. The future is incredibly bright for LR Baseball, on the field and off."
This class sits atop the South Atlantic Conference and only trails Young Harris College (third), USC-Aiken (second) and UC San Diego (top class overall). Carson-Newman is the closest and finds themselves in sixth place in the national rankings while sharing the same amount of national rated signees as Lenoir-Rhyne.
