Lenoir-Rhyne Women's Golf in Sixth After First Round of SAC Championship

The Lenoir-Rhyne University Women’s Golf Team wrapped up the opening round Sunday of the 2018 South Atlantic Conference Championship in sixth place at The Members Club at Woodcreek.

 

The Bears shot a 327 (+39) on the par-72, 5,830-yard course in the first round while Wingate leads with a 310 (+22) on the par-72, 5,830-yard course.

 

Lenoir-Rhyne is led by juniors Chelsea Mansel (Greer, S.C.) and Abbey Hartsell (Taylorsville, N.C.). Both players are tied for 12th overall with a 79 (+7) after 18 holes of play.

 

Wingate’s Warissa Puangcharoen and Tusculum's Cydney Murrell currently stand at the top of the leaderboard with a three-over 75.

 

The second of three rounds will take place on Monday.
