Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Eric Dickinson and Ryan Crompton have been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive and Defensive Players of the Week, respectively.

Both players led Lenoir-Rhyne to a 17-13 road victory over Limestone last Saturday in Gaffney, S.C. The Saints were the top-ranked team in the nation and the defending national champions.

Dickinson, a sophomore midfielder from Charlotte, N.C., finished with nine points – five goals and four assists – in the Bears’ stunning upset of the Saints.

Dickinson was a first-team all-league honoree last spring and was named the 2017 SAC Freshman of the Year after leading the league with a school-record 50 goals to go along with a team-tying 67 points. Dickinson ranks first on the team in goals scored (seven) and total points (12) so far this year.

Crompton, a senior goalkeeper from Frederick, Md., earns the weekly defensive honor for the second time this year and the eighth time in his collegiate career. Crompton, a preseason all-league first-team selection, totaled 13 saves against Limestone.

Crompton ranks second all-time in school history in saves (317) and goals-against average (9.64) and is starting for the third straight season.

Lenoir-Rhyne (2-0), now ranked No. 3 in the nation, returns home to take on ninth-ranked Seton Hill (1-0) Saturday at Moretz Stadium beginning at 1:00 p.m.
