Blaine Prescott had four hits, while Leody Taveras and Yohel Pozo recorded three apiece as the Hickory Crawdads topped the Greensboro Grasshoppers 8-1 on Wednesday.
Prescott singled four times, driving home three runs. Taveras doubled and singled twice.
Hickory started the scoring in the second inning when Pozo scored on a fielder's choice and Prescott hit a two-run single.
Greensboro answered in the top of the next frame when Jarett Rindfleisch hit an RBI single, scoring Brian Miller to get within two.
The Crawdads later scored in three additional innings to finish off the blowout, including three runs in the seventh.
Hickory right-hander Michael Matuella (3-6) picked up the win after allowing one run on eight hits over five innings. Opposing starter Michael King (9-7) took the loss in the South Atlantic League game after a rough outing in which he allowed five runs and 12 hits over four innings.
