Lenoir-Rhyne University Men’s and Women’s Tennis Coach Tom Rees has announced the addition of Brigit Folland as a Graduate Assistant for the upcoming school year.
Folland, a native of Bristol, ENGLAND, was a four-year starter and captain on the University of South Carolina Women’s Tennis Team (2014-17) and led the Gamecocks to the NCAA Division I Sweet 16 as a senior this past spring. For her career with South Carolina, Folland went 91-51 in singles competition and 81-37 in doubles action.
Folland was the top-ranked junior player in the United Kingdom and has a career-high ranking of 1,000 in the WTA Doubles.
“I am ecstatic to welcome Brigit (Folland) as our incoming graduate assistant this year,” said Rees. “She brings an incredible playing pedigree and it was clear to us from the outset of the search process that she was a perfect fit for the job. Our players will undoubtedly benefit from her experience in our pursuit to reach the next level.”
The Lenoir-Rhyne Men’s and Women’s Tennis Teams open the Fall 2017 Season at the Wingate Invitational on Saturday, September 9, and Sunday, September 10, in Wingate, N.C.
