Bobby Dalbec hit a run-scoring single in the first inning, leading the Greenville Drive to a 3-1 win over the Hickory Crawdads on Monday.
The single by Dalbec came in the midst of a three-run inning and gave the Drive a 2-1 lead. Later in the inning, Granger Studdard hit an RBI single, bringing home Tyler Hill.
In the top of the first, Hickory grabbed the lead on a solo home run by Brallan Perez.
Greenville left-hander Jhonathan Diaz (4-3) picked up a quality start and the win after allowing one run on three hits over six innings. Opposing starter Walker Weickel (2-2) took the loss in the South Atlantic League game after allowing three runs and seven hits over 3 2/3 innings. Hunter Smith retired the side in order for his seventh save of the season.
The Crawdads are 14-11 on the second half of the season. The Crawdads are off on Tuesday before hosting the Asheville Tourists on Wednesday.
