Lenoir-Rhyne University recently entered into a partnership with the YMCA of Catawba Valley. Through this alliance, the tennis facilities at the Hickory Foundation YMCA will serve as the new home of the Lenoir-Rhyne University Tennis programs.
According to Nat Auten, President & CEO of the YMCA of Catawba Valley, the partnership will be mutually beneficial for Lenoir-Rhyne and the YMCA tennis community.
“Having the expertise of Lenoir-Rhyne’s tennis program on our YMCA campus makes our YMCA stronger, and enables us to serve more people. We are delighted to embark on this transformational relationship that will positively impact our community," said Auten.
“We are excited to announce this new partnership with the YMCA, and for the chance to train and compete in their top-notch facilities as the new home of LR Tennis. This partnership not only enhances the student-athlete experience, but it also fosters connections between our student-athletes and local youth. It is a win for everyone,” said Kim Pate, Director of Athletics for Lenoir-Rhyne University.
“The YMCA, just like LR, is dedicated to building and strengthening the communities where we live, work, and raise families. Through collaboration, we can reach more community members with our mission of putting Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy minds, bodies, and spirits,” added Auten.
