Blaine Prescott had two hits and scored two runs, and Michael Matuella threw five scoreless innings as the Hickory Crawdads defeated the Asheville Tourists 6-3 on Friday.
C.D. Pelham got Brian Serven to fly out with runners on second and third to end the game for his fourth save of the season.
Matuella (1-5) allowed three hits while striking out four to get the win.
Hickory took the lead in the first when it put up four runs, including RBI singles by Brallan Perez and Alex Kowalczyk.
After Hickory added a run in the third on a single by Franklin Rollin, the Tourists cut into the deficit in the sixth inning when Willie Abreu hit an RBI single and Bobby Wernes drew a bases-loaded walk.
The Crawdads tacked on another run in the eighth when Perez hit an RBI single, bringing home Prescott.
Breiling Eusebio (1-1) went 3 2/3 innings, allowing five runs and six hits in the South Atlantic League game. He also struck out one and walked four.
