Crawdads Fall Thursday In Asheville

The Asheville Tourists defeated the Hickory Crawdads 9-4 Thursday (July 13) in Asheville. Hickory fell behind 7-1 after five innings before plating three in the 6th. Asheville added two more runs in the 7th for the final 9-4 result.

Anderson Teheda had three hits and an RBI, Alex Kowalczyk and Charles Leblanc had two hits apiece, and Eric Jenkins homered for the Crawdads. With the loss, Hickory falls to 12-9 on the second half of the season, they remain tied for first place with Hagerstown in the South Atlantic League second half standings, 1-1/2 games ahead of Delmarva.

Hickory wraps up the series at 7:05 tonight (July 14) at Asheville before heading to Greenville for a three game series.
