App State Track and Field Takes Part in Tennessee Challenge

Appalachian State University women's track and field concluded the Tennessee Challenge on Saturday, competing in the high jump and pole vault events.

Libby Florence and Mary Theresa Montgomery each cleared heights of 5-3.00 in the high jump, tying for fifth-place.

Cassie Crawford recorded a seventh-place finish in the pole vault on Saturday, clearing a height of 11-11.75.

The Mountaineers will return to action next weekend for the Georgia Invitational on Saturday, May 10.

Men's Track Returns From Tennessee Challenge

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Appalachian State University men's track and field concluded the Tennessee Challenge on Saturday, competing in the high jump and pole vault events.

Phillip Thomas led the way for the Apps in the pole vault, placing seventh with a height of 15-5.00. The mark was a new personal record for Thomas.

Fellow pole vaulter Matt Layne was unable to place, while high jumper Samuel Allen also recorded no height on Saturday.

The Mountaineers will return to action next weekend for the Georgia Invitational on Saturday, May 10.
