Yanio Perez hit a two-run home run and had two hits as the Hickory Crawdads topped the Kannapolis Intimidators 6-4 on Thursday.

Matt Ball got Antonio Rodriguez to ground out with a runner on first to end the game for his third save of the season.

Hickory went up 4-0 in the third after Perez hit a two-run home run.

After Kannapolis scored a run in the third on a single by Mitch Roman, the Intimidators cut into the deficit in the fifth inning when Roman hit an RBI single, driving in Joel Booker.

The Crawdads later tacked on a run in both the eighth and ninth innings. In the eighth, Ricardo Valencia hit a solo home run, while Miguel Aparicio hit an RBI single in the ninth.

Sal Mendez (3-0) got the win in relief while Kannapolis starter Bernardo Flores (5-3) took the loss in the South Atlantic League game.
