The Hickory Crawdads dropped their fourth straight game in a 6-2 loss on the road at Kannapolis Thursday night.
Ricardo Valencia led the Crawdads with a two-for-three night at the plate with a run scored. Yeson Yrizarri and Brallan Perez each had sacrafice flies.
Mitch Roman had three hits and two RBI, and Jimmy Lambert allowed just four hits over eight innings for Kannapolis.
Lambert (2-0) picked up the win after he struck out four while allowing two runs.
Kannapolis started the scoring with a big second inning, when it crossed the plate for four runs, including a solo home run by Seby Zavala.
Following the big inning, the Crawdads cut into the deficit in the top of the next frame when Yeyson Yrizarri and Brallan Perez hit sacrifice flies.
The Intimidators extended their lead in the fifth when Roman scored on a triple and Jameson Fisher scored on an error.
Kyle Cody (0-1) went four innings, allowing four runs and six hits while striking out three in the South Atlantic League game.
Hickory falls to 5-10 on the first half of the season. Hickory stays in Kannapolis through Sunday.
