Lenoir-Rhyne University’s Mike Hanlon has been named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Offensive Player Of The Week, league officials announced today.
Hanlon, a senior attacker from Haymarket, Va., tallied a game-high five goals and an assist in leading the Bears to a 12-11 league overtime victory over Tusculum last Saturday at home.
Hanlon, a 2016 first-team all-conference honoree, currently has 20 goals on the season and leads the league in both assists (20) and total points (40).
Hanlon is the third Lenoir-Rhyne player – sophomore attacker Joe Buduo (Shrewsbury, Mass.) and freshman midfielder Eric Dickinson (Charlotte, N.C.) were the others – to earn league weekly offensive accolades.
Catawba’s Ryan Applegate was named the AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Men’s Lacrosse Defensive Player Of The Week.
Lenoir-Rhyne (6-1, 4-0), ranked No. 12 in NCAA Division II, puts its six-game winning streak on the line against Young Harris Tuesday on the road in Young Harris, Ga., beginning at 4:00 p.m.
