CVCC's sophomore Forward, Kadesha Gibbs, signed a National Letter of Intent with a full scholarship to NCAA DII School, Georgia College.

 

The Appalachian State men’s and women’s tennis teams saw their season come to an end in the 2014 Southern Conference Championships. The women fell to Samford 4-0 in the quarterfinals, and the men loss 4-0 to top-seeded Elon in the semifinals on Friday.

 

The LR men’s and women’s lacrosse teams also saw their seasons come to an end in the conference tournament against Queens.

 

The 13th-ranked LR Softball Team split a South Atlantic Conference doubleheader with Tusculum Friday afternoon to clinch a share of the league regular season title. This is the 9th league regular season title for the Bears. And In LR baseball, the bears increased their winning streak to eight games with an 11-2 victory over Pfeiffer Saturday afternoon at home.

 

The LR Men's Track and Field Team finished second overall at the 2014 Food Lion South Atlantic Conference Championships on Saturday. On the women's side, Lenoir-Rhyne finished fourth. Bears have four conference champions including three on the men's side, and Brooke Robinson was named SAC Women's Freshman Of The Year.

 

The Hickory Crawdads won 6-1 on the road Thursday against the Asheville Tourists, and they continued their winning streak against the Tourist with a 7-2 victory on Friday. The final matchup scheduled for Saturday was cancelled due to the weather, and the contest will not be made up.
