The Hickory Crawdads split their doubleheader against the Kannapolis Intimidators last night, with the 'Dads taking game one 3-1 before falling 9-2 in game two at L.P. Frans Stadium.
The first game saw the Crawdads combine the excellent pitching of Cole Wiper and Ryne Slack with some early offense en route to the win. Dads had a 2-0 lead, but Kannapolis responded with a run off of Wiper in the top of the 2nd to make the score 2-1. Slack would finish off the Intimidators from there, tossing two shutout innings to end the game.
Kannapolis turned things around in game two, as the Intimidators jumped on Hickory starter Collin Wiles for four runs in the first for an early 4-0 advantage. The Intimidators would go on to add to their lead with two runs in the third, one in the fourth and two more in the seventh.
